Art & Craft

The Art and Craft group’s rationale is to be part of the great Skilling-Up, whilst enjoying making friends and beautiful/useful objects.

We meet monthly in our homes/workshops for an evening of making/skill-swopping, and sometimes more frequently to respond to the needs of a particular project.

We make high-impact visuals for our TNA awareness raising stall (Muffy and her world, Pledge Tree and wooden pendants, skilling-up/power-down concertina books, banners, signposts, TNA publicity materials and photographs, Solution sun poster, community garden mock-up etc.
Craft – learning to make things from found, pre-used, recycled or natural materials, e.g. making taper candles from member’s beehive beeswax.
Other craft activities will include paper-making, basket weaving, sewing, mosaics, book-making, felt-making, wood-work, soap-making, jewelery, metal work, cork work, rocket stoves, scratch music makers etc.

Skill -swops like sewing in zips, revamping clothes, sewing skills, knitting, alterations, cushion covers, spinning etc.

Bringing more art and art exhibitions to the area.

Art projects linked to other hubs, making visible TNA’s aspirations and visions – e.g. renewable energy sculptures for Energy Group, 3-D representation of community garden to show our plans, Free-flow form sculpture for Community Garden.

Interested in joining us? Come along to the next meeting, details on the calendar, or phone 01626 366347 to ask for details.

All welcome. We are keen to learn and skill-share.
